The morning was fairly uneventful, but I spent quite
a bit of time helping out at the volunteer center making care packages
for hurricane victims. It was hard work but good. I really enjoyed the
work, and it felt good knowing I could help my fellow Americans. Plus
there wasn't anything else going on so I was glad to be of use and
productive rather than aimlessly wandering around the city.
Day Two - Morning Update

Looks like things are getting back to normal and plans are to get the
convention back on schedule. Had breakfast this morning with the
Vermont delegation and heard from several speakers. The most prominent
speakers during our breakfast were Carly Fiorina former CEO of Hewlett
Packard (also once briefly mentioned as a possible VP pick), and Andy
McCain John McCain's son from his first marriage (also who is
successful business man in his own right). They and the rest of
speakers spoke about John McCain the man relating more of his personal
story. A couple members of our delegation will be late to the
convention so they swapped credentials with Alex and I. I will be on
the actual floor for the first couple of hours of the convention
tonight until they arrive. Am really looking forward to hearing Fred
Thompson speak and am just glad New Orleans was spared so we can get
down to business. I will post again this evening after I get back from
the convention. Have fun.
Day One - Evening

After our exciting morning we went back to the hotel
room where we finally got some broadband internet and were able to
work. We had a snack for lunch and got ready to head over to the
convention. The convention site located in Saint Paul at the Xcel
Energy Center was very impressive. The bus ride was short and security
was fairly tight, but done so well we weren't really aware of it,
although from watching television after we could see just what a large
presence there actually was.
Traveling to Minnesota

Hello all, started this blog from an altitude of 36,000 feet and about an hour behind schedule (I love airports, sense my sarcasm). Got up at 2am EDT and drove from Presque Isle to Bangor with enough time to grab breakfast. Checked in around 5:30am and took off on time and arrived in Newark airport for my connecting flight a little after 8am. Boarded the plane to Minneapolis and spent nearly an hour taxiing in line to take off. Oh well, so far so good, met an alternate delegate from Massachusetts on the flight and can tell the flight is full of other convention goers including protesters. The plane only seems to have two temperature settings, roast and icicle, which also changes depending on which end of the plane you're on and which end complains the most. On a good note the stewardess gave everyone raisins (which I do love), also lucky me which no one else seems to, so here I am typing away at 30 plus thousand feet with half a dozen boxes of raisins, not bad.
I have been thinking about how truly historic this election is going to be, and how excited I am that the first woman Vice President is going to be a Republican. I am very fortunate to be a part of it and in the middle of the action no less.
