SubscribeOne of our most highly respected activists, Shane Sickles, passed away this weekend from a heart condition. He is remembered by many current and past members as having been passionate about the Maine College Republicans. He was a committed volunteer who always showed up first and stayed the longest. Without Shane at the forefront of volunteer efforts in 2006 we would not have had the victories in both the Bangor area and across the state.
This earned him the award of Activist of the Year in 2006. In addition to his grassroots volunteer efforts, Shane served as finance director. Chairman Nate Walton always counted upon his hard work and leadership. Shane Sickles set an example for our group long into the future and he will not soon be forgotten.
